Your wig comes pre-styled and may be packaged inside out to eliminate coldset assuring a ready-in-an-instant style. Since everyone has a different face shape, forehead length, and different style preferences, we suggest having the wig initially customized by a professional hair stylist while you are wearing it. A little trim on the bangs and a little thinning here or there can make all the difference in the world. Remember, you should never brush, pick, comb or curl a wet wig unless you are resetting it entirely.
Tips for removing the shine from a synthetic wig.
Have you ever received a beautiful synthetic wig that may be a little too shiny? Here are two ways to remove that shine.
*The first tip is to apply some baby powder to the wig. You would want to put some on a powder puff to be sure you don’t apply too much. If you apply too much powder to the wig it will give the wig a gray look. After applying the powder you will want to shake off any excess. If that didn’t remove enough of the shine you will want to repeat until the desired look is achieved.
*Another common way to remove the shine is to soak in vinegar for 5 minutes. After it has soaked you will want to remove from the vinegar rinse it thoroughly and allow to air dry fully. You do not want to blow dry or apply any type of heat because the fibers may not be heat resistant and you could damage the look of the wig.
Washing your Human Hair wigs
Step 1
Before washing your human hair wig, brush gently, or use a detangling
comb from the tips of the wig to the base/roots. Never begin combing at
the top or middle, this will damage and tangle the unit.
Step 2
Fill a basin with cold or cool water, add a dash of your favorite mild
shampoo, Silicon Mix, Ionix, or Nearly Natural shampoo and swish
gently. This will remove any sprayed on chemicals, buildup or residue.
Do Not rub or twist hair!
Step 3
Rinse thoroughly then lightly squeeze hair in cold water making sure Not to rub the hair.
Step 4
Towel blot your wig gently in a patting motion, then place the unit on
your wig stand to drip dry or wet set while it is still damp. You may
use a spray bottle filled with diluted setting lotion or water to keep
the hair moist as you work with the hair to style it. This will assist
the hair to adhere to the rollers and give a good curl to the ends of
the hair. If you prefer to use a flat iron or curling iron, let the
unit air dry overnight or place the wig under a hard hat dryer on LOW,
45 minutes to 2 hours depending on the length of the wig. Style the wig
to your liking using gentle strokes with a comb or wig brush. Spray a
light mist of hair spray or spritz to seal the curls, then style as
desired.
Step 5
Remove the wig from the wig stand and try your freshly styled human
hair wig on to see how it looks. You may need to add a few finishing
touches to personalize the style of the wig to fit your face.
Step 6
Long hair products should be braided in a few sections for sleeping or swimming to prevent tangling of the hair.
Step 7
Don't sleep on wet hair. It will matt and tangle up.
